A German Shepherd Attends Church Every Day. Here’s The Heart Breaking Reason Behind This.
It’s not a usual thing to see a dog going to church every day. In San Doanci, a small town near Brindisi, Italy, it is a common occurrence. Tommy, a 7 years old German Sherpherd goes to mass each day and while the service takes place, he sits near the altar. Everyone who attends the church knows Tommy and they expect to see him there at the same time. It is the reason why he is visiting that is heartbreaking.
Tommy was a puppy when his owner Maria Margherita Lochi, 57 years old, found him abandoned in fields. She decided to adopt him and rescue him. Since then, they had a very strong bond.
Loyal Tommy has been waiting for Ms. Lochi, who died a few months ago. He saw her for the last time at the church while attending her funeral service. The dog now returns every single day and comes when he hears the mass bell ringing and waits until the services are completed before leaving.
The good news is that now the whole village has adopted Tommy and they are taking care of him. They know that that’s how Ms. Lochi his former owner would have wanted it. Now Tommy becomes a loyal friend of the community.
